Moynihan Held Hearings on President's Health Plan
As Renata
Adler points out in her book "Canaries In The Mineshaft,"
Moynihan held 29 committee hearings about President
Clinton' health plan, all of which were a matter of
public record, and held numerous discussions with the
President about Welfare reform.
The Times
did acknowledge in a subsequent correction that it has
"referred imprecisely" to the number of hearings that
Moynihan held on health, but did not find it necessary
to amend the report that Moynihan had not discussed
Welfare reform with Clinton.
